I've returned for the second helping

Soul food for Today:

Love this brown perspective of me ..hahah!

This blog serves as good desert , reflection of the worthwhile moments...but also offers me a taste of the meals I'm likely to sample in coming times. I did apply for a job at Mcdonalds, the brainwave of our seven year old. No , I detest the idea of grease rising up and serving substandard food-but the idea of serving customers enticed me , as did the idea of multitasking and eventually managing a joint like that. I feel like I'm trying out ideas that had their inception in my youth. People will laugh as they thought me an unlikely person to work at any of these huge basic shops (Coles, Kmart...) Strangely, the current challenges of my life as mother and wife make the new experiences tantalizing , like seeing how I can adapt my honed skill -set as home-maker to corporate industry...Would your label it as corporate?!
An aside I learnt from Mum how to do 'dripper' reticulation today and feel confident at repeating the exercise independently. I also learnt how to construct a chicken coop partly under construction and partly with Mum telling us "You figure it out" . I liked having the liberty of using my own brain to figure how I was going to do this. Dante, our 13 yr old,  would not videoed sawing the wood... I had thought it could be most entertaining to watch as he has mini - tantrums. Our 10 yr old on the other hand tends to ask every 15 min when this is going to be over. Why? Because he has an incessant desire to reconnect with his online friends and win some battles there. I was glad to hear Dante felt accomplished to construct a REAL fort, if only for chickens.
Other soul food was the food we concocted with leftovers and what was in the garden. Never mind that when I asked 4 yr old to bring some 'greens' to green up the meal he brought 2 beetroots. Dante promptly berated me for not applauding his efforts. That same 4 yr old and his 7 yr sibling managed to break 3 plates over the course too. I marveled at how unflustered my reaction was, except when I step on it. All my days' annoyances get channeled into yelping at that point.
